Sulfur is a natural mineral best known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also incredibly effective at drawing out pore-clogging sebum—which is why you’ll often see it in acne treatments or products formulated for oily skin.

When used in skin care, Sulfur draws out excess oil and helps target the bacteria that can cause breakouts. Pores are unclogged while drying out the skin’s surface for that super-clean, decongested feeling.
There’s no denying that Sulfur stinks; it’s just the nature of certain compounds. The results outweigh the smell, though: we (and so many other brands) wouldn’t formulate with it otherwise, for so many decades!
